Adaptive Physical Education Services (APE)
EMH Sports USA strives to be responsive to the special needs of the homeschooled community. Appropriate programs are designed and implemented after consultation with the family and/or homeschool. EMH applies the same concept of physical, social, and emotional development to our special needs students.
EMH provides credentialed instruction through the Adaptive Physical Education National Standards (APENS). This certification means that students are benefiting from a program on a national level that maintains an updated standard and regularly certifies that its members are current in their understanding and practice of those skills and knowledge. Students who fall under this category receive instruction conducted on a 1:1 basis.
In addition to our children's services, our Adult APE Programs are designed to accommodate participants eighteen years and older. Programs specifically designed for the mature members of the community provide physical activities that foster lifelong healthy lifestyles.
The services provided by EMH APE Instructors include:
- Planning services
- Assessment of Individuals /Ecosystems
- Prescription/Placement: The IEP
- Teaching/Counseling/Coaching
- Evaluation of Services
- Coordination of Resources and Consulting
- Advocacy
