EMH Instructors
- All EMH Instructors/coaches receive training through the National Sport Education Program (NSEP). This program was developed by EMH to provide our coaching staff with training in sports philosophy, sports medicine, coaching techniques, and time management.
- EMH Sports USA is an applicant agency with the Department of Justice and all instructors/coaches are live-scanned every six months.

Martha Ashe - San Diego County

Tennis, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Track & Field
Coach Martha Ashe is a great addition to the EMH Sports family lending us her expertise in the sport of tennis. Coached by Dave Sanderlin, who played doubles with tennis star Arthur Ashe, has made her tennis knowledge second to none. After graduating from San Diego State College, Martha has participated in numerous tennis tournaments throughout the San Diego area and continues to perfect her game on a weekly basis. Martha is actively involved in youth events through her church and has also worked as a missionary. Her travels have taken her to far off places such as Africa, Indonesia, Russia and parts of Europe. Instructor Ashe’s missionary work is extremely important to her as she continues to volunteer in relief-type ventures.

Michelle Boles - Orange County

EMH is honored to welcome Michelle Boles to our coaching team. She brings a wealth of experience instructing children in the classroom setting as well as summer day camps. As a first grade teacher, her patience and easy going personality make her a favorite with students. Coach Michelle works with the children’s ministry at her church and is currently homeschooling her two sons. She has experience in a variety of sports especially, volleyball. Coach Michelle enjoys working with children of all ages.

Kelly Borrego - L.A. County

Coach Kelly Borrego is a welcome addition to the EMH team. Coach Borrego graduated with a B. S. degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton with a focus on fitness and health promotion. She was a high school cheer coach for 4 years has run a summer all girls’ sports camp. Currently, Coach Borrego is a Program Leader for a private school where her focus is on physical education instruction. She has a passion for working with youth of all ages and enjoys sharing her passion for sports with them

Ian Bryant - Riverside County, San Diego County

Coach Ian Bryant is the Director of Sports Operations for EMH. Coach Bryant brings an exceptional background in basketball as well as track and field to EMH. As a star shooting guard, he played varsity basketball all four years in high school and was the MVP during his senior year at Temecula Valley High School. He also made Honorable Mention and All League during his senior year for his defensive skills. Coach Ian has played on many prestigious club teams in Colorado and California including tournament play with the well-known Los Angeles Rockfish. Coach Bryant also has a winning record in track and field. He attended the Junior Olympics in the 4x4 relay and is a state record holder in the 4x4 relay in Colorado where he was a member of the Runner's Academy. In 2009-2010 Bryant was the lead coach for the EMH Sports/Lamond Murray Real Run Basketball Clinic and Camps for homeschoolers, charter, private and public school students age 5 to adult implemented through the City of Temecula (CRC). He is in demand from the private sector as a skills coach. Coach Bryant is currently finishing up with a degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management.

Lisa Burnes - Orange County

Lisa Casullo Burnes has been teaching all styles of dance and fitness for over 25 years. Conducting Master Dance Classes, working with Performing Arts Camps, teaching at numerous dance studios across the country and for many City Parks and Recreation. Lisa so enjoys bringing her love of dance and sports to all students. She has traveled extensively with numerous dance and revue shows worldwide such as “Will Roger’s Follies”, “Annie”, “The Nutcracker” and “West Side Story”. For three years in a row, Lisa has starred as a Radio City Rockette in “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular” show. As a teen, Lisa played ice hockey, basketball and even lettered in Indoor Track her Senior year of high school all while continuing to study dance. As a choreographer, Lisa has created pieces for Busch Gardens Theme Park and the stage productions of “Nunsense”, “Godspell”, “Cinderella”, “Plain & Fancy”, “The Chipper Show”, “Pride and Prejudice: The Musical” and “The Chipper Lowell Experience”.

Steven Cole - Riverside County, San Diego County

Coach Steven Cole has always been a firm believer in the value of physical education and physical activity. He played team sports all throughout his childhood and into adulthood. Health and wellness is so important to him that he decided to focus on those subjects through college, earning a B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal State San Marcos. During college, Steven learned a lot about many aspects of the the field including Adaptive Physical Education, Sports Nutrition, Athletic Training, and Exercise Physiology. Aside from his education, Steven has always had a sincere interest in developing youth, having volunteered in multiple youth programs for many years.

Michael Foster - Riverside County, San Diego County

Football, Wrestling, Track and Field
Coach Mike Foster heads the I.T. Technical Support team for EMH Sports USA. He brings his special blend of talent to EMH most notably on the football field and wrestling mat. He received All State as a Defensive Lineman in football during his senior year at Woodruff High, in Peoria, Illinois. His wrestling talent was unparalleled as he remained undefeated for two years and attained all regional status. Additionally, he excelled at the shot put and discus in track and field. From high school he attended West LA College where he was played on the defensive line. He has also been a coach for numerous EMH Football Clinics and Football Academy of Defense. Coach Foster is dedicated to working with young adults, bringing them the joy of athletics. His immediate plans are to try out for the United Football League while pursuing a degree in music arrangement.

Michele Greenhall - Riverside County, San Diego County

Coach Michele Greenhall is a Lead PE Instructor for EMH Sports. She is also the Head Coach for the EMH Tiny Tots Basketball program run through the City of Temecula. She hails from Canada and is a multi-talented athlete in many sports disciplines. Exercise, nutrition, fitness, dance and sports have been her focus from a very young age. She is well versed in establishing goals and objectives in muscle movement and body mechanics and works with EMH as a private fitness trainer. Her goal is to motivate her students to excellence in sports and fitness. She has run her own ceramic business and is a certified instructor through the International Association of Ceramics. In her spare time, Coach Michele works nationwide in dog rescue and has appeared numerous times on the hit television program, Miami Animal Police, which plays on the Animal Planet Channel.

Chase Greep - Orange County
Coach Chase Greep was born in Calgary Alberta, Canada. He has a strong background in sports, as he has played and excelled in volleyball, basketball, football and soccer in high school. He went on to play point/shooting guard at the college level in basketball for the Palomar Comets. The Comets went on to win the Pacific Coast Conference Championship and placed a spot in the state championships. During his formative years, Coach Greep also competed in wrestling, badminton, gymnastics as well as track and field. In his spare time he snowboards, surfs and wakeboards at an advanced level. He has even competed in the Candian Provincial Championships in wakeboarding where he placed second which led him to receive an invite to the Candian Wakeboard National Championships. Coach Creep is currently attending CSUF where he is majoring in biology with the intent to apply for Dental School.

David Hall - Riverside County

Coach David Hall is a great addition to the EMH Basketball Program. He is the Head Instructor for EMH's Intermediate/Advance Basketball clinics that are run through the City of Temecula. Coach Hall is an exceptional point guard and played Varsity basketball at Temecula Valley High School where he was also the team’s captain. He made all League 1st Team, and was runner-up for player of the year as a senior. Coach Hall’s fundamental approach to dribbling the basketball has helped many players to excel in their game. He is currently attending San Jacinto College majoring in law enforcement and still competes in basketball via league play.

Ryan Kelley - Clark County

Coach Ryan Kelley brings an extensive background to the EMH soccer program. He has been playing indoor and outdoor soccer for the last twenty years starting with youth teams and throughout high school. He has played competitively on many club teams in Connecticut and Nevada. In high school, Coach Kelley also participated in golf, baseball and ice hockey. He is working on his degree in sports and exercise studies. When he is not instructing for EMH, he enjoys umpiring and helping coach little league baseball.

Diedra Keogh - Riverside County

Coach Diedra Keough is a NHE certified personal trainer. She has owned her own dance studio in Colorado and has been involved Track and Field and teaching aerobics and gymnastics for many years. Working with children of all ages is a passion for her and one of her goals is to see her student’s progress through her instruction. In Coach Keough’s spare time, she is involved with her family which encompasses her husband, six children, a dog and two cats. But her activities don’t stop there; she currently coaches a flag football team.

Marlene MacIsaac - Riverside County

Coach Marlene MacIsaac is a very talented athlete from Canada and we are excited to have her as one of our coaches. She has an extensive background in the realm of softball and golf. She played for her city league and took home a division championship. Her educational background is in Engineering where she holds a degree in Piping and Instrumentation Design for oil and gas exploration. As one of our outstanding instructors, her patience and caring attitude has made her one of the EMH favorites. In her spare time Coach Marlene is an avid golfer and has 3 holes in one to her credit. She enjoys working with children of all ages.

Ian Mascarenhas - San Diego County

Coach Mascarenhas brings an extensive and impressive background in softball to our sport’s lineup. He has managed softball teams for many years and has served as an Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner for softball leagues managing 62 different teams in the San Diego County area. Coach Mascarenhas has also coached youth volleyball and baseball for several years. He has worked in the banking industry and in computer network support roles. When he is not coaching for EMH, he works for his church as a Director of Religious Education and a youth minister, overseeing programs for children/young adults in preschool through high school. Coach Mascarenhas enjoys working with youth of all ages.

Kristy Oswalt - San Diego County

Coach Kristy Oswalt brings a wealth of athletic ability to EMH. Coach Oswalt graduated from USIU San Diego with 2 majors, Physical Education and Health. She also completed courses for the California Teaching Credential Program for grades K1-12th. She is highly proficient in water sports: surfing, canoeing, white water river rafting, and body surfing. She has also spent time teaching and volunteering for after school team sport activies. Coach Oswalt has an extensive background in Aerobics, Yoga, Nutrition, Health, Kinesiology, and Preventive & Adaptive PE. When she is not instructing for EMH, she teaches Classical Pilates mat routines privately and has earned a Pilates Mat certification through Pilates Mind and Body work courses. She also works with children and elders providing various levels of modified Pilates routines and nutritional evaluations.

Mike Perez - L.A. County

Coach Mike Perez is no novice to the realm of sports and EMH is excited to have him as a coach. He has played and competed during his high school years in wrestling, football, baseball and track and field. He went on to pursue his love of football in college while studying kinesiology. He has been a youth coach in baseball and football and his positive and motivational instruction serves his students well.

Zack Pietron - Orange County, Riverside County

We would like to welcome Zach Pietron to the EMH team. Coach Pietron has been a participant in the PE programs with EMH and has worked as an assistant coach for several years. His expertise is in Track and Field in which he has competed in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. He has continued his love of track by competing in many 5K runs. Coach Pietron also referees girl’s volleyball. He enjoys working with young adults instructing in all sport’s disciplines.

Ernie Rama - Clark County

Ernie Rama is an exceptional basketball coach. He played at the collegiate level at Concordia University and was a professional basketball player in the IBL, ABA in Mexico and Germany. Coach Rama is the owner and director of 360 Hoops Basketball Training. He has a B.A. in Health and Physical Education from Concordia University. Coach Rama enjoys working with youth of all ages.

Sebastian Rodriquez - San Diego County
Sebastian Rodriguez is very active in sports and has participated in basketball, track and field, and tennis. He has lived next to the beach for nearly all his life, from San Diego to Santa Barbara and loves riding the waves on his bodyboard. While at UC Santa Barbara, he realized how much he enjoyed sharing his passion for a healthy lifestyle with others and that he wanted to educate people on how to improve their well-being. After graduating from UCSB, Sebastian immediately became certified as a personal trainer with NASM and continues to pursue more credentials and experiences that will make him a better coach, trainer, and counselor.

David Scott - Orange County

Coach Dave Scott is a Lead PE Instructor for EMH Sports. Coach Scott has been involved in youth sports for 17 years in baseball, softball, wrestling and football. The children on his teams, over the years, have spanned from ages 4 to 18. The programs have produced many city and state champions as well as academic excellence. Several children went on to receive college scholarships in their prospective sports. Coach Scott’s philosophy is to use the sport to build their self esteem, make them a better student, friend, and family member.
As an athlete he has achieved success in track and field, baseball, softball, bowling, gymnastics and weightlifting. He was elected to the all state team in softball 3 times, athlete of the year 2 times, city championships in gymnastics, hurdles, long jump, 440 and 880 relay teams, and ranked in the top 10 of the country in the dead-lift competition. He is currently active in umpiring boys and girl’s baseball and softball.

Jennifer Shipp - San Diego County

Coach Jennifer Shipp is a Lead PE Instructor for EMH Sports USA. She brings her special blend of talent to EMH on the softball field. She started out as a young player in softball and was the MVP of her club league. In high school she played center field and catcher. Her athleticism also had her as a member of the swim team. Upon graduation of high school, she has continued her love of softball by playing on many league teams throughout the state of California. Coach Shipp has participated in the development of youth physical fitness through her church where she volunteers her services in her spare time. She has also traveled around the world as a missionary and enjoys working with orphaned children.

Shanda Venneau - Orange County

Coach Shanda Venneau is no novice to teaching or sports and EMH is excited to have her as an instructor. She started playing competitively at the age of 5 years old with ice skating. From the age of 8, she began playing softball and AYSO soccer. Coach Venneau was the starting second baseman for the varsity softball team her freshman year. She also played volleyball, soccer, and golf in high school. Her love of sports led her to work for the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA as a day leader, Itty-bitty tee-ball coach and swim instructor. She played softball for Golden West College and then continued her education at Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the School of Communications and emphasis in photo-communications and minor in political science. Coach Venneau is a member of the National Honors Society in Journalism and Mass Communication. She went on to University of Phoenix and received a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the State of California. Coach Venneau's love for golf and education led her to work at Pelican Hill Golf Resort and assist with the drills at the Glen Deck Golf Academy. She also coached golf for 1st-3rd grade at the Better Golf Academy, and tutored at the Get-A-Grip Foundation. Her photography career has led her on a path to photograph many sports, celebrities and athletes. She has worked with ESPN, The NBA, and in 2011 won the PGA sponsorship Conference Golf Tournament at the Sea Side Golf Course on Sea Island Georgia where the McGladrey is being held. Shanda also specializes in photographing corporate and charity golf tournaments.

Julian Wells - Riverside County

Coach Julian Wells is the Director of Marketing and Sales for EMH Sports USA. He brings a unique blend of athleticism to EMH as a star athlete in both high school and college. He played Varsity basketball, football and track while attending high school. Coach Wells was highly recruited as an All-State High School running back in Colorado, setting the single season rushing record that still stands today. He was an acclaimed star guard in High School, attaining All-League in his senior year. In 2002, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer league. As an AAU basketball coach in Colorado, his fundamental approach to shooting the basketball has helped many players to excel in their game. Coach Wells has spent the last 5 years as a confident and shooting advisor for several NBA players. He also helped to develop the EMH's clinic lesson plans for the EMH Sports/Lamond Murray Real Run Clinic (2009 & 2010). Coach Wells has an Aviation Degree from Louisiana Tech Academy and enjoys flying around the California countryside in his spare time.

Karen Wentzel - Riverside County

Karen Wentzel is the Manager of the Adaptive Physical Education Program for EMH USA. She brings many years of experience to the EMH Adaptive Physical Education (APE) program. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Physical Education major and Adapted Physical Education and Health Education minors. Before moving to California, Coach Wentzel taught elementary PE and PK-12th grade Adapted PE in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Her coaching experience consists of middle school, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball. She has also coached all levels of club volleyball and middle school basketball. When Coach Wentzel is not instructing APE for EMH, she enjoys playing volleyball and mixed doubles tennis. She and her family enjoy the outdoors and love to go camping. Coach Wentzel enjoys working with children of all ages.

This introductory class instructs children in the fundamentals of basketball. EMH instructors will use a variety of modified approaches and fun games to foster kids' understanding of the sport. There will be no competitive games in this class. This class leads into the Beginning Basketball Skills Clinic. Parents are welcome to join in and all equipment is provided.
While your child practices ball-handling, dribbling, and shooting, they will also learn about good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the value of fair play. The clinic will focus on chipping, swing, and putting. All equipment is provided.
The clinic is geared on self defense maneuvers to help escape assault. Also introduced are blocking, kicking and punching techniques.
This is a two-fold clinic which focuses on agility/conditioning for all sports with the main focus on track and field. The instruction will offer strength and distance training along with proper form running drills. Speed work using parachutes and ladders and hurdles for agility will be introduced. This clinic is designed to introduce the player to the competitive realm of the sport of basketball. Game situations and strategies are introduced. Participants in this clinic should have a good understanding of basketball fundamentals. Instruction will be available in a group setting and will focus on hitting, ground strokes, volleys and serves. The clinic will help the student to learn the fundamentals of grips and strokes and progress toward sustained rallies. Students will be grouped by age and experience. All equipment is provided.
